Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's successful Hollywood marriage began when they worked on Lemon Sky together in the eighties.
However, in a new interview with Parade magazine the City on the Hill actor shared details of their relationship which will surprise fans.

Years before they became romantically involved, Kevin met Kyra when he was performing in a stage show.

He told the outlet: "She was 12. I was 19 and at the Cherry Lane Theatre downtown doing a play.
"Her mom was a theater fan and had seen me in three or four plays and told her, 'You should go see this actor. He's good and I'm going to get you tickets.'

Kevin, 64, continued: "So she went to a matinee with her brother and then went to a deli. I was there getting a sandwich before the evening show and [her brother] said, 'That's the actor! Go talk to him.'
The couple have been together since they were in their twenties
She walked up and said, 'Hi, you were good in that play.' We reconnected years later [doing the 1988 TV movie Lemon Sky]."
Kyra - who shares two grown children with her husband - previously opened up about their longstanding marriage and told The Post: "Honestly, we just got lucky, there's no secret, we just got so lucky when we were so young.

"I was 21 when I met him, 23 when we got married. If someone had told me when I was 21 that I was going to be married and have a kid by 23, I would have told them they were out of their minds because I was very ambitious, I was very independent.
Kevin and Kyra are often asked the secret to their long-lived marriage
"And then suddenly I met this person, and it was like well this was it. And I was so young and so dumb, and I can’t believe I was smart enough to do that,” she said. "No one is smart when they're 21. We're just really lucky, and it's not hard."
