Michael Strahan has been one of the staple hosts of Good Morning America for years, a beloved part of the morning news show.

As such, fans have been disappointed upon seeing him absent from the morning roster for the past several installments of the show.

While the TV star hasn't shared a definitive reason for his absence, he is presumably taking time off to spend with friends and family while also developing his own Michael Strahan Brand.
While his personal presence on social media has been more infrequent over the past few weeks, he did come back to share a rare photograph.

As opposed to more branded, professional work, this one simply saw him in the midst of a throwback celebration with his friends from his days as a pro football player.
"Celebrated my brotha @curtmenefee as he earned a master's degree in Public Policy & Administration from Northwestern University. #TBT," he penned alongside the picture.
Michael shared a throwback to a celebratory occasion with friends
Several of his fans congratulated his friend on his achievement, with many of them appropriately sharing football emojis.
The last occasion on which Michael shared a more personal post on social media was earlier in September, when he celebrated his son Michael Jr.'s birthday with a collection of family pictures.

"Happy birthday to my son, @mstrayjr," he wrote. "Wishing you the most amazing day!! You are an amazing son, friend, brother, and a great human being. So proud of you."
Michael and Michael Jr. were beaming in the photos and showing off their matching, bright smiles.

While the former NFL player is significantly taller than his son, they both displayed their athletic physiques too.
Fans commented on the photos and wrote: "I thought you only had the 2 girls! Good looking son, happy birthday to him," and, "Happy Birthday to your handsome son, your mini me, wishing him all the best now and beyond the years to come."
