Gisele Bündchen has an urgent ambition to get everyone to be kinder to the planet, with her home country Brazil’s Biomes very much in her heart and mind.
She may be one of the world’s most famous supermodels and graced the covers of magazines across the globe but she has been a voice and genuine ally for biodiversity and wildlife.
Celebrating turning 42 this year in July, the glamorous supermodel was inspired to take further action and she started a new initiative funding seven organisations restoring Brazil’s Biomes.
It seems nothing is too much of a challenge for her. She has said the environment will very much be her focus in the next chapter of her life but for two decades, she has already done so much good for the planet.
To name a couple of amazing things, the runway star has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme since 2009 and donated hundreds of thousands of trees to the Amazon.
Her efforts have not gone unrecognised; Harvard University and UCLA have honoured the catwalk queen for her commitment to the environmental cause in a special way.
Her good work and achievements for the environment only continue to blossom as she strives for excellence in this area. Having worked with Gisele on global environmental initiatives, gaming company DraftKings hailed the model’s work in the green spheres as inspiring.
Jason Robins, DraftKings co-founder & CEO, told HELLO!: "Since being named as a special advisor to me and our Board of Directors last year, Gisele has helped drive some of DraftKings' global environmental initiatives.
"She was a champion of our goal to plant one million trees by Earth Day 2022 in coordination with the Arbor Day Foundation—which we are proud to say we accomplished.
"Gisele's commitment to environmental sustainability is inspiring and we are excited to congratulate her on making HELLO! Magazine’s 2022 Kind List."
