Kelly Ripa has quite a few close friends in the industry, but none come close to matching her bond with ABC News anchor David Muir.

The two have shared a long and great friendship, and they got to reminiscing about time spent together when David appeared on her show for an interview earlier in the year.

While on Live with Kelly and Ryan, the World News Tonight host talked about his fun summer and how he spent a majority of it upstate working on restoring his boat and home.
"I kind of miss our weekends together," Kelly reacted, at which point David mentioned that they'd often spend days by the pool and barbecue together and did so at the start of summer.

She even revealed that her kids loved having David over, especially when it came to barbecues and other fun summer activities.
"You are a great grill master, your cheeseburgers are delicious," Kelly gushed. "Joaquin would rather eat at David's than anywhere else on earth," which left David surging with pride and happiness.

Kelly got the opportunity to recently celebrate her close friend on his birthday with a social media tribute post featuring a compilation of moments spent together.
"Happy birthday @davidmuirabc. Now get back to work!" she wrote alongside several candid photographs of the pair having the time of their lives with friends and family in tow.

She even took to her Instagram Stories to share glimpses from their birthday celebration together, including bringing out the cake.
David responded to his friend's sweet post with: "Oh my goodness. I want to be in any of those places again. Love you @kellyripa and that beautiful Consuelos clan."

The Live host made sure that she had the last word, though, adding with a series of laughing emojis: "We love you more! Now get back to work."
