Shortly after the news of his split, the football star jetted off to Germany, embarking on quite the meaningful trip for his career.

His time in Munich marked quite the momentous time in his decades-long football career, as not only was it was the first NFL regular-season game ever played in Germany, at Munich's Allianz Arena, but after a less than stellar football season, he was really counting on winning against the Seattle Seahawks.

Win they did, 21-16, and Tom took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the special moment, detailing how while winning the game was certainly a good feeling, it was the bond with his team that made it all the more special.

Taking to Instagram Stories, he shared a photo in which he is at the stadium clad in football gear alongside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' other quarterbacks, Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin, plus a member of the team's entourage.

In the photo, he wrote: "Germany Boys Trip 2k22," and endearingly added: "Winning football games is fun, the bonds you make during a football season are even better."

He said: "I think the frustrating part is we just haven't played to the way we're capable of playing, and that's for a number of different reasons."

The team won in front of a crowd of roughly 65,000 fans

Anticipating a tough game, the quarterback added: "We've got to just win this game and it will take care of that, but Seattle's going to challenge us. They have very talented players, good skill players, they're great on defense, they're creating a lot of sacks and turnovers. It's a very good team and it's going to be a very tough, hard-nosed game."

He also looked back on his decision to keep playing football at his age with no regrets, despite it being one of the alleged reasons behind his divorce. He said: "I returned because I felt like I wanted to compete, and I spoke to the team about it, and they were excited to have me back."
