As you can see in the video below, Lara has long been an animal-lover, recently encountering animals on Martha Stewart's farm where she was hosting her Great American tag sale, and in this new post the news anchor posted a picture of herself in front of a groundhog, captioning the post: "Good Morning America gives back to the wildlife rescue group that saves animals like Mr.McButterpants. #groundhogday."

Lara had visited Broken Antler Wildlife Search and Rescue in Hampton Bay in New York, where the 53-year-old revealed a check from their sponsor Netspend for $10,000 to help with the sick and injured animals.

"I’m jealous that you’re having such fun with the rescues! What a great organization," one fan wrote on Lara's account.

Lara is not shy about her love for pets, considering her three dogs, Riva, Coco, and Dandy, her other children, and in November she shared a sweet post shedding light on pet adoption and revealed how much dog rescue organizations mean to her - particularly the one where she adopted her three dogs.
