Nathan Fillion keeps his private life out of the spotlight and is currently believed to be single, but that doesn't mean that he's always been unattached.
The Rookie star once popped the question to his girlfriend, who was none-other-than actress Vanessa Marcil, who was famous for her roles on Beverly Hills 90210 and General Hospital.

Nathan's engagement to Vanessa wasn't his first and last. The actor proposed to Mikaela Hoover, just months into their relationship.
Nathan was engaged to Vanessa Marcil
The pair began dating in April 2013 and were engaged before the year was out. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be and the two split not long after.
While Nathan remains unbetrothed, it doesn't mean he doesn't have many special people in his life, including his family, who he's incredibly close to.
Nathan has a huge fan following from his role on The Rookie
Last year, he delighted fans when he shared a snap of himself with his lookalike dad Bob on Instagram. He joked in the caption: "As I grow older, I can see more and more how my father tries to look like me, and I can’t blame him."
Both Nathan's parents, Cookie and Bob, are retired school teachers and the star had planned to follow in their footsteps until he landed a role in One Life to Live and dropped out of college. His older brother, Jeff, is also in academia and is a high school principal.
