Acclaimed actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, has once again proven that her talents extend beyond the silver screen, as she showcased her impressive musical skills in a recent Instagram post.
Sharing a video of herself performing a captivating rendition of Carly Simon's classic Coming Around Again, the 53-year-old not only sang beautifully but also accompanied herself on the piano filmed inside her stunning home. Watch the incredible moment below.
The song, which holds a special place in many hearts, was initially composed for the 1986 film Heartburn, written by Nora Ephron and starring the legendary Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson.
The mother-of-two captioned the post with a heartfelt tribute to Carly Simon, stating, "Today is my official Carly Simon appreciation day. Just because." The video quickly garnered praise from fans, who were in awe of the actress's musical prowess.
One admirer commented, "That was so very enjoyable… just loved it. Thank you." Others shared similar sentiments, with one fan exclaiming, "Literally crying. Kat McNamara, star of Arrow and Catherine’s former co-star in the Broadway musical A Little Night Music, also expressed her admiration for the performance. "I have always loved listening to you sing... miss you so. x Your Fredrika," Kat commented.
Although most of her acting roles haven't required her to showcase her singing abilities, Catherine has had the opportunity to do so in film adaptations of Broadway musicals such as Chicago and Rock of Ages.
In a 2022 interview with Parade, she revealed that if she hadn't pursued a career in acting, she would have chosen to become a musician. She described her dream as "a cross between Carly Simon, Adele, and Alicia Keys, just sitting at the piano and rocking out."
