Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's daughter, Gracie McGraw, has shared her heartbreak following the school shooting in Nashville on Monday.

The 25-year-old – who grew up in her parents' Nashville home – took to her Instagram Story to vent her frustration over America's lack of gun control, while expressing her sadness for the victims and their families. "We need gun control now. Right now," she began.

"The shooting that just happened in Nashville, TN, where 3 CHILDREN have been reported as dead with maybe more cases coming in. My heart breaks for all of those children and their families."

Gracie added: "Covenant is a prek-6th grade school. These are little babies whose lives will now never be the same. Our government is too busy championing bad people and focusing on laws that don't matter to care about these kids' lives. It is unfathomable to me that this continues to happen."

The Broadway hopeful's post comes after three staff members and three children were killed at the Covenant School on Monday by a 28-year-old former student, who was later fatally shot by police.

The victims have been named as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all age nine, along with staffers Mike Hill, 61, a school custodian, Cynthia Peak, 61, a substitute teacher, and Katherine Koonce, 60, listed on the Covenant website as "head of school."

Police said they did not believe any of the victims had been specifically targeted. Following the tragic incident, Police Chief John Drake told reporters authorities were working on a theory about what may have led to the shooting and would "put that out as soon as we can."

He said the suspect had no known prior criminal history.

Reacting to another school shooting, President Joe Biden urged the U.S. Congress again to pass tougher gun reform legislation, including a ban on assault-style weapons.

"It's sick," Biden said, addressing the issue during an event at the White House. "We have to do more to stop gun violence. It's ripping our communities apart, ripping the soul of this nation."
