Coleen Nolan is currently enjoying the single life after splitting from her boyfriend, Michael Jones, in July. On Tuesday's edition of Loose Women the singer shared one of the reasons that one of her relationships ended in a split.

During the show, Coleen and co-stars Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Frankie Bridge were discussing giving people compliments after Frankie went viral on Instagram for getting her husband and son to judge some of her previous looks.

The stars discussed how it was often important to give a friend a compliment, although Janet appeared to shy away from receiving them.

Ruth then turned to Coleen and asked whether she felt they were important in relationships, and you can see how the former pop star responded in the video below…

Shane and Coleen split in 1999, after Shane had an affair, while Coleen and Ray divorced in 2018 owing to "marital difficulties".

It's been a difficult week for Coleen, as her sister, Linda, shared on Monday that her cancer had spread to her brain.

Coleen was visibly upset as she spoke about her sister on an edition of Loose Women, telling her fellow panellists: "I'm so sick of it. It just attacks my family all the time, and I know a lot of people go through it but selfishly, you think of yourself. And I'm scared of crying because I don't think I'll stop."

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Linda, who has untreatable secondary breast cancer, told hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley: "I've always been open about my treatment and what's happening in my life."

She went on: "I just want to tell you, from me, that sadly my cancer has now spread to my brain, which I only found out on Monday. It's obviously very frightening because there isn't much help for brain cancer at the moment, apart from radiotherapy, which I'm going to be having."

Linda also explained to Richard and Susanna that she will be undertaking treatment with a new chemotherapy drug for the disease which has only been in use for a year. "But the hope is that this new drug, which they are hailing as a 'wonder drug', will do wonders for me, please god."
