Who is Savannah Guthrie's husband?

Savannah Guthrie and her husband Michael Feldman have been happily married for nearly a decade. The smitten couple are doting parents to son Charles, six, and daughter, Vale, eight.

The duo first crossed paths in 2008 at his 40th birthday bash. "When we first started dating, he came over and fixed my toilet, which I found to be very attractive," Savannah told Reveal.

"Mike is extremely handy, which is one of the things I liked about him when I first met him. I thought, 'Wow, here's a sophisticated guy who grew up in the city but who can actually do things.'"

They enjoyed a whirlwind romance and became engaged in 2013. A year later, Michael and Savannah exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony outside of her hometown in Arizona.

What does Savannah Guthrie's husband Michael Feldman do for a living?

Michael works in business consulting. He is a founding partner and North American co-chairman of FGS Global – an international communications, consulting and advocacy firm. FGS Global is a result of his previous firm – the Clover Park Group – joining forces with a handful of smaller consulting firms.

He kicked off his career in the Senate, working as a floor assistant in the Senate Cloakroom before later becoming a legislative analyst for the Senate Democratic Policy Committee. He joined Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign staff in 1992 and later served then-Vice President Al Gore as deputy director of legislative affairs.

Savannah Guthrie almost split with Michael just before the got engaged

During an episode of Today in October 2018, Savannah made the surprise confession while talking to her co-star Al Roker

Discussing the moment that Savannah and Michael got engaged in 2013, the NBC star said: "We did break up on the day that we got engaged."  "That's a quick comeback," Al teased, to which she replied: "It really was." 

When did Savannah Guthrie get married?

Luckily, Michael popped the question just hours after Savannah effectively gave him the ultimatum whilst holidaying in Turks and Caicos. Appearing on Today in 2019, Savannah explained how she was struggling to see how their relationship could progress if they didn't tie the knot.

"It got to the point where no one thought we were ever going to get married — including us, especially including me," she revealed.

"We were kind of at that point in life where it was like, we're either going to have to decide to get married or we're just going to have to love each other but let each other go.

"I was like, 'Sweetie, I love you so much, but if we can't decide, then I think we've decided.’”

Unbeknownst to Savannah, her beau Michael had plans to propose later that very afternoon. Recalling the happy memory, the mother-of-two explained: "That night, the sun was going down, and he was like, 'Let's open that champagne they sent us,' and Savannah said yes after thinking about it "for two seconds."

The duo tied the knot in 2014, saying "I do" in front of close family and friends. In March 2022, Savannah paid the sweetest tribute to her spouse on their wedding anniversary.

Celebrating their big day, the TV star shared a carousel of touching snapshots, including a stunning photo of themselves on their wedding day surrounded by giant cacti. In her caption, she penned: "How it started —> how it's going… It's going *beautiful* because you're in it, @feldmike. Happy Anniversary!"

How old was Savannah when she had her kids?

Savannah and Michael's path to parenthood wasn't smooth sailing. The couple have been incredibly open about their past and have previously opened up about their IVF journey. "Because we are older," she explained to Health magazine, "It was important to me for her [Vale] to have a sibling, somebody to do life with.

"My husband and I, we decided, 'OK, let’s give it a shot,' you know?' But it ended up taking more than one attempt. It took a few," she said.

"But we were lucky. I always say, Charley was, like, the last egg out. He really was. And we're so blessed."

Savannah was 42 when she welcomed her first child on August 13, 2014. On 8 December 2016, she welcomed her second child, Charley, aged 44.

The broadcast journalist has previously spoken about her baby joy, explaining how she thought they’d missed the opportunity to start a family. "We thought maybe it was too late and we'd lost our chance," Savannah told People.

"When we found out we were pregnant, I don't think there were two happier people on this planet."

The family are incredibly close! Ever the doting dad, Michael adores spending quality family time with his brood. Savannah shares regular family updates on Instagram, and it appears Michael has converted his two kids into ardent Eagles fans.

In November 2014, he told People: "I have a purpose now. It's the most important job that I have ever had. And while I am new to this whole parenting thing, I promise that I will do whatever I can to protect you, nurture you, help you develop and grow into the best person you can be."
