Madeline Edwards will have a night to remember on Sunday as she is set to join Alanis Morissette on stage at the 2023 CMT Music Awards

The 29-year-old singer – whose debut album, Crashlanded, is out now – will feature in an all-female line-up consisting of Lainey Wilson, Ingrid Andress, and Morgan Wade for a rendition of one of Alanis' biggest hits, 'You Oughta Know'

Speaking to HELLO! ahead of the ceremony, Madeline shared her excitement and pride over the collaboration, which will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 'CMT Next Women of Country' franchise.

"I'm really excited. This will be a pretty big career moment I think, just because of who I'll be performing with," the 'Mama, Dolly, Jesus' singer told us. "I'm honestly just very honored.

"I'm really grateful to [CMT executive producer] Leslie Fram. She's the one who called me and asked me to do this performance and she's always in my corner and I'm just really grateful to her and the whole CMT team."

While singing with Alanis, Lainey, Ingrid, and Morgan will no doubt be an incredible highlight, the CMTs will be extra special for Madeline because they have relocated from Nashville, TN, to her home state of Texas.

"The CMTs are in Austin this year so that's going to be really special because I'm going back to my home state," Madeline said. "I'm doing a bunch of really cool shows there, including the CMT Awards, so it's just going to be really special."

Madeline will have a couple of weeks to fully absorb the momentous moment before she heads back out on the road to tour her album.

Her upcoming performances – which include her debut UK headline show at London's Omeara on Friday, July 7 – mark the first set of shows she will do since the release of her record in November.

Alanis Morissette will perform her anthem You Oughta Know

"It's really exciting because all of the touring and festivals that I did last year, I was playing all of these songs but nobody had the ability to go and listen to them because the album wasn't out yet," she told us.

"Now, it's even more exciting because I get to play these songs at all of these venues and now people have a way to go back and listen to them."

The 2023 CMT Music Awards will air live from Austin, Texas' Moody Center on Sunday, April 2, on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. Tickets for Madeline's tour are on sale now.
