Fans of Yellowstone are used to seeing actor Cole Hauser atop a horse, with his character Rip Wheeler spending much of his time riding around Dutton Ranch.
Given that Rip oversees the cowboys and ranch hands on Dutton Ranch, it was a worrying time when Cole Hauser sustained an injury that could have meant he was unable to ride anymore, putting his role at risk.
Prior to joining the Paramount show, Cole broke his back falling from a horse during the filming of the movie The Last Champion, which left him worried about his ability to ride for Yellowstone's first season.
"My back was so bad I couldn't move around very well, and so I lost strength in my stomach," he told Men's Journal, before explaining that it was getting back on a horse that helped him heal.
"What riding ended up doing is strengthening my back and my core," he explained.

Despite falling from a horse, Cole is an experienced rider. He was born on a ranch in California and told Men's Journal that some of his earliest memories are of learning to ride horses.
That said, he admitted that after a break from filming, his first time back on a horse for a new season always leaves him miserably sore the next morning.
