Savannah Guthrie gave her fans a surprise when she announced back in February that she would be giving up Instagram for Lent.
While her presence was definitely less active than before, she wasn't completely gone, occasionally resurfacing for family updates and being featured in work-related posts courtesy of her assistant.
Now that it's Easter, the Today Show anchor made good on her promise to return, announcing her comeback on Sunday.
Alongside a photograph with bunny ears and Celine sunglasses, the jubilant host teased: "Back on Instagram! maybe differently now? A beautiful meaningful respite. Happy Easter!"

Some of her followers gave her challenge a try as well, sharing their own thoughts as one wrote: "I took your challenge on, and being back is awkward, I like not being on here… looking to find that balance."
Another also said: "Beautiful, talented lady! We missed you!!" while a third added: "Welcome Back!! Hope you and your family have an egg-cellent easter."
© InstagramA week before Lent, the 51-year-old shared that she would be leaving the platform as a way to get some space from social media.
"UPDATE: Savannah just found out Lent starts next week, but the instagram fast starts day!" she started off by saying. "I'm giving up Instagram for lent. I'm not catholic, and I've never given up anything for Lent before.

"I'm doing it to challenge myself: to be more reflective, to not just reflexively scroll instagram and instead use that time for something more productive and life-giving to myself and others.
"I'm telling you this so that I will have accountability!! And maybe you would like to join me?? See you back here after Easter! (Any work related posts you see will be posted by my assistant!!!)"
The Today anchor resolved in February to take a break
Her resolve received an enthusiastic response, with her co-workers in particular cheering her on. Jenna Bush Hager commented: "I gave it up tooooooo!!!!" while Sheinelle Jones quipped: "Ok fine I'll just talk to you during commercial breaks!! You got this!"
