S Club 7 star Jo O'Meara breaks silence over Paul Cattermole's death

S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara has broken her silence over the death of her friend and bandmate Paul Cattermole, who died aged 46 last week.

Taking to Instagram, Jo paid tribute to Paul, who passed away just weeks after the band announced their comeback tour.

Sharing a photo of her bandmate, she wrote in the caption: "I just wanted to reach out and thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for the love and kindness you have shown over the tragic passing of our sweetest soul Paul.

"This has been utterly devastating and I am totally shocked and heartbroken we have lost someone so incredibly special to us all, and there is a huge sense of sadness that will never go."

She continued: "Paul will forever be a huge part of our lives, and I will forever treasure the memories we made! I will love you always Paul, God bless you my darling, Rest in forever Peace. Love JoJo."

The singer was flooded with messages of condolence in the comments section, including from actress Kym Marsh, who wrote: "Sending so much love to you all."

One fan commented: "Sending you all the love in the world. I can't imagine what you're going through. You'll always be our 7," while another added: "It's so heartbreaking. I think everyone still is in shock. Sending lots of love to you all."

On 6 April, Paul was found at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon. 

S Club 7 later released a statement on Twitter that read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."
