While we're used to seeing Dr. Jennifer Ashton light up our screens on Good Morning America, the star doesn't often share insights into her family life with her two children and pet dog.
But on National Pet Day, the mom-of-two couldn't help but gush over her beloved Morkie -- a cross between a Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier, Mason. In a heartwarming snap, Jennifer cradled her beloved pooch in her arms as she stood on the porch of her pristine home in the Pacific Palisades, in Los Angeles. Jennifer looked suitably dressed for the neighborhood in a gorgeous blue sweater that matched her dog's collar and a white cap.
In a touching caption dedicated to her beloved pooch, Jennifer penned: "This guy! Mason the Morkie is the first small dog I’ve ever had (always had Labs and German Shepherds) and he has the biggest personality. We love you SO much Mason!"

Fans quickly became obssessed with the Morkie, as they flooded the comments section with dozens of heart emojis for the pooch and Jennifer.
Chief medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton has two children, Alex, 24, and Chloe, 22, although she rarely shares photos of them on social media.
However, she made an exception last Mother's Day when she posted a sweet tribute to them alongside a rare photo of the trio hiking. "Every day is Mother's Day with my @alex.ashton @chloee_ashtonn I love you both more than the universe! #mothersday," she wrote.
Jennifer shared her kids with her late ex-husband Robert Ashton. The pair divorced in 2017, and sadly two weeks after it was finalized, Robert took his own life.
Last year, the mom of two married long-term partner Tom Werner in a dreamy ceremony and in photos exclusively shared with HELLO!, the happy couple posed together on their special day, which took place at New York City's Harmonie Club in Manhattan.
Jennifer looked radiant in a Ralph Lauren Collection gown, with jewelry by Sue Gragg, and was styled by Lindsay Flores.
Tom, meanwhile, looked dapper in a tuxedo. Jennifer was escorted down the aisle by her children before exchanging vows with Tom, in front of their close family and friends.
They were joined under the chuppah, the traditional Jewish wedding canopy, by Tom's son and two daughters as well as Jennifer's children.
Rabbi David-Seth Kirshner, who officiated the ceremony, referred to the coupling as, 'bashert' the Yiddish word for soulmate.
