Miranda Lambert has broken Reba McEntire's long-held Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards record, after receiving her 17th Female Artist of the Year nomination.
Reba has been nominated 16 times across her career but on Thursday April 13, Miranda surpassed the number after the 2023 nominations were announced. As well as the Female Artist of the Year, Miranda also has four other nominations including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year for 2022's Palomino. In 2022 she won the coveted ACM Triple Crown, becoming only the eighth country star to win the rare award.
Elsewhere for the second time in ACM history, three albums released by all-female acts have been nominated for Album of the Year with Ashley McBryde and Lainey Wilson joining Miranda in the category along with Luke Combs and Jon Pardi.
The last time three all-female acts had albums nominated for Album of the Year in the same year was in 1999; Faith Hill, Jo Dee Messina and The Chicks were nominated that year and The Chicks ended up winning the category with Wide Open Spaces.
Jo Dee has received her first nomination in 22 years in 2023 as she joins Cole Swindell for Event of the Year for their hit collaboration 'She Had Me At Heads Carolina'.
HARDY leads with seven nominations including Song of the Year and Artist-Songwriter of the Year. HARDY shares three of his nominations with collaborator Lainey for their song 'wait in the truck'; Lainey received the most nods for a female artist with six nominations including Female Artist of the Year and she is also the artist nominated in the highest number of categories this year.
Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn received three nominations together for their song 'Thank God', marking Katelyn's first ever ACM nominations, while Morgan Wallen received four nods including his first nomination for Entertainer of the Year.
