Meanwhile, Ryan's co-host Kelly was very moved by the occasion, welling up at several points in the show before he signed off with her for the last time.

Ryan's decision to leave his role at Live! comes from his desire to spend more time working on other projects. Writing in her Instagram post, Aubrey reflected on how excited she was for the change that would come to both of their lives as a result.

"I am so excited for this next chapter of your life and our life. May it be filled with total presence, joy and relaxation in every single moment. The best is yet to come," she said, before adding: "Cheers, love ya babe."

Ryan hosted Live! with Kelly and Ryan for six years, from 2017 to 2023. Before his tenure, Kelly had co-hosted the show with two others: original anchor Regis Philbin and Michael Strahan.

Speaking to Ryan during their final show together, Kelly told Ryan: "Although we have been friends for decades and decades, I feel I have gained a younger brother, slash older son."

The audience and Ryan giggled. "It's very complicated," she then confessed. "I'm so grateful that our success together on this show has led to us developing an even closer but co-dependent relationship."
