Reese Witherspoon reunited with her ex-husband Ryan Phillipe on Friday April 14 to celebrate their son Deacon's album launch.
The former co-stars turned lovers split in 2006 and have two children together - son Deacon, 19, and daughter Ava, 23 - but the family came together to honor their youngest as he released his first EP, A New Earth. Ryan shared pictures of the "awesome" evening and thanked friends and family for supporting his son.

Deacon told HELLO! in 2022 that his new music was "really special," revealing that although he wouldn't give it "an exact genre but it's very me", and saying that he is inspired by Post Malone.
"I am just trying to make music that I like and listen to," he said.

They married in June 1999, and announced their separation in October 2006. Reflecting on the divorce in an interview with W magazine, Ryan said: "It was the darkest, saddest place I've ever been. There were a good four or five months of not being able to get out of bed. It was the worst time of my life."
Despite the challenges, the couple has continued to co-parent their children, most recently celebrating Deacon's high school graduation together in June 2022 and now the launch of his musical career.

© Jon KopaloffBut it comes amid heartbreak for Reese, who last month announced she was divorcing her husband of 12 years, Jim Toth, in a statement that emphasized their priority to maintain their family's well-being during the transition.
In a joint statement, they said: "We have some personal news to share... It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.“We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together."
They wed after a whirlwind romance in 2011 and she told Marie Claire that she felt "a great sense of relief and an incredible amount of support from my husband".
Together they welcomed a son, Tenneesse, who is now eight.
