Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen were two of many well-known names who came together to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day on Monday. During the poignant day of reflection, the married couple met with Holocaust survivor Celina Karp Biniaz, who was rescued by German industrialist Oskar Schindler during the Second World War.

Isla, who converted to Judaism upon marrying her husband who was born into a Jewish family, is an avid supporter of the Jewish community, and regularly uses social media as a platform to combat antisemitism and celebrate religious holidays.

The actress took to Instagram to share an image from her and her husband's special meeting, writing: "Thanks to Gal and Jaron for letting us meet on Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) the inspiring Celina Karp Biniaz, one of the last living survivors from Schindler's List."

"She shared her personal story, which included nearly five years in the Krakow ghetto, her transfer to Auschwitz, and her terrifying encounter with Dr. Josef Mengele before she, her mother, and the other women on Schindler’s list were rescued by Schindler and were reunited with her father at Schindler's factory."

Oskar Schindler's legacy was documented in Steven Spielberg's 1993 film Schindler's List. The biopic famously starred Liam Neeson as the protagonist, who helped save the lives of over 1,200 Jews by employing them in his enamelware and ammunition factories in occupied Poland and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The film won seven Oscars, including Best Picture.
