Taylor Swift fans are certainly passionate, and are known for both their detective and defensive ways, when it comes to the superstar and anyone who may have wronged her.

Following her shocking split from her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn after six years together, fans have been itching for clues on what went wrong, and though neither the singer nor actor have yet to address the topic, a new sighting of the actor has made fans go berserk.

Both of them are notoriously private, and make rare appearances both in public and on social media, and while a sighting from them would have usually made Swifties jump with joy, an inadvertent sighting of the Conversations with Friends star has resulted in the very opposite.

His upcoming co-star on The Brutalist, Emma Laird, was the latest victim to swarms of Swifties clogging her comments section (the likes of Karlie Kloss and Jake Gyllenhaal have faced the same), after she shared a recap of her time filming in Hungary.

Captioned "Moments in March," Emma posted a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos, one of which sees Joe smiling at the camera as he rides a bright green scooter.

She has since turned off the comments on the post, though not before fans noted that a post of hers from January, not March, sees her posing next to the very same Lime scooters.

Swifties went wild over the rare sighting of Joe

The January post still has comments turned on, and while she is still receiving many accusatory and stalker-ish comments from fans, many have apologized on behalf of Swifties, and urged them to leave the actress alone.

"Came here as a Swiftie, just wanted to send you love and let you know we're not all so unhinged. You're incredibly talented and can't wait to see what your future holds," one fan wrote, as others added: "Guys we need to calm down.. we don't know about the truth," and: "Swifties stop acting like a cult and harassing the woman online over something you know nothing about," as well as: "Leave the girl alone."

The film in the works, The Brutalist, has had Joe spending time in Hungary for the last several weeks – the break up from Taylor allegedly happened before her tour started on March 17th – as principal photography started not long ago.

Directed by Brady Corbet, Oscar-winner Adrian Brody stars as the film's lead character, Lászlo Toth, and Felicity Jones will play his wife Erzsébét Toth. Per IMDb, the film's plot reads: "When visionary architect László Toth and his wife Erzsébet flee post-war Europe in 1947 to rebuild their legacy and witness the birth of modern America, their lives are changed forever by a mysterious and wealthy client."
