Ryan Reynolds can put his money where his mouth is! Two years after he purchased Welsh football club Wrexham FC with best friend Rob McElhenney, the club was promoted to League Two after winning the National League trophy.

"I am not sure I can process what happened tonight. I am still a little speechless," Ryan told BT sport after the 3-1 win against Boreham Wood.

"[People ask] 'Why Wrexham?'. This is why Wrexham. This, [what is] happening, right now, is why. Boreham Wood showed up today. They are an incredible team. They have one of the best defences in the entire league," he said.

"It's a time of celebration and [to[ be welcomed into their community and be welcomed to this, it is the honor of my life," added Rob, who called their top goal scorer Paul Mullin "one of the greatest footballers in the world".

Rob and Ryan were both in attendance at the match, as well as Marvel star Paul Rudd.

Wrexham's promotion comes after a 15-year absence, when they were relegated on this day, April 22 2008.

The celebrity couple are also parents to eight-year-old daughters James, Inez, six, and three-year-old Betty. They made their first public appearance as a family-of-six at the end of March, when they went to visit the grounds of Wrexham FC. They have yet to reveal the gender or name of their fourth child.
