Miranda Lambert is an award-winning singer, songwriter, designer, entrepreneur, dog mom, wife (to Brendan McLoughlin), and now author.
The 39-year-old Texas native will launch her first ever book, Y'all Eat Yet?: Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin' Kitchen, on April 25, and it's part-memoir and part-cookbook — a look back at the women who have shaped her life through their wise words, poignant actions, and hearty home cooking.
"I wanted people to see inside this sisterhood a little bit and understand how important surrounding yourself with good, strong women is," Miranda told HELLO! ahead of the launch. The book features stories from Miranda's childhood, early years as she and her beloved mom Beverly June Hughes traveled the country booking small gigs and radio appearances — and the one meal that she will always reach for when returning home.
Were there any stories that your mom or her friends vetoed?
Oh, there are some! Most of the stories that we have are in this book, but there are a few that stay inside the circle. What happens on Airstream trips, stays on Airstream trips.
If you could only pick one recipe from this book that someone must try, what would it be?
I would have to say my mom's Meatloaf. It’s a staple in our family and friend group.

The friendships you share in the book have been borne out of years of love and trust. Are friendships harder to form these days? How do you approach making new female friends now?
I think it is harder these days because it’s a different world than it used to be with how much we rely on our phones.
I am always open to the right energy, and I’m also aware that sometimes people move in and out of your life for a reason and then there are those people that are lifers.
It’s all about how open you are with each other; celebrating the highs and holding each other up during the lows.
When you get back to the farm after a long trip out on the road, what's the one meal you go for?
Anything home cooked, honestly. But I do love Brendan’s Italian food. He is an amazing cook.
If I go home to mama's I like to have dad's chicken on the grill with barbecue sauce (Paw Paw Sauce in the book). It just tastes like home.
This book comes on the back of your Wanda June homeware collection, fashion brand Idyllwind, Nashville bar Casa Rosa, and winery Red 55.
I just want to keep building these brands and making sure that every single thing we do stays authentic to who I am. I have also been writing a ton, so hopefully new music. That’s what drives it all!
