Morgan Wallen's last minute concert cancellation in Oxford, Mississippi has sparked an angry backlash from disappointed fans, some of whom have gone the legal route.

It was revealed on Tuesday that one of the fans from the show, Brandi Burcham, filed a class-action lawsuit against the singer on behalf of herself and other concertgoers.

Court documents obtained by Page Six stated that refunds for the show, which were promised at the point of purchase, had yet to be issued at the time of filing.

Although Burcham's suit has since been dropped, the law firm involved in the matter, Langston and Lott, said in a statement on Facebook that the matter may be far from over.

"We have been contacted by numerous individuals who spent thousands of dollars – separate and apart from the cost of their ticket – who would like to see legal redress as well," they wrote in a post which has since been made private.

"We plan to re-file the class action lawsuit with a new plaintiff in the coming days. The second lawsuit, like the first, will seek compensation on behalf of all those affected, not just one person."

The 29-year-old country singer released a statement on Monday regarding the incident, saying: "Y'all know how important my fans are to me, so I feel horrible about this news.

"I appreciate and understand everything you do to get to my shows, so it would be unfair of me to put on a show that I know will not be 100%."

For context, Morgan was slated to appear at the Ole Miss stadium while on his One Night at a Time World Tour in support of his most recent studio album One Thing at a Time, which has been number one on the Billboard 200 for seven weeks so far.

However, after the opening acts (comprising HARDY, ERNEST, Parker McCollum and Bailey Zimmerman) had performed, minutes before he was scheduled to appear, a message flashed on the jumbotron stating that he would be backing out due to vocal challenges.

The singer has already received backlash from fans in the form of class-action lawsuits

"Ladies & Gentlemen, unfortunately Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight – therefore tonight's show has been canceled. Please make your way safely to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonight's event will be available at point of purchase."

Several of the 60,000 attendees took to social media to express their frustration, with many clips of angry fans going viral on TikTok soon after.
