Travis Kelce’s dad has finally shared what he thinks of Taylor Swift - months after the pop superstar, 33, finally went public with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34.
After Taylor was spotted chatting to Papa Kelce, known as Ed, in the box at the Kansas City Chiefs game on October 12th, it looked like the first time the father had met his son’s new love interest and they were really getting on.
Now, the football patriarch, father of Travis and Philadelphia Eagles Centre Jason, has shared whether or not Taylor gets his seal of approval.
Ed called the ‘Cruel Summer' songstress “a very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman”, in conversation with People.
He had one particularly “special” observation about her from the first time they met in the box at Arrowhead Stadium
“We're sitting in the suite”, he explained. “She gets up and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. Because in the suites everybody gets stuff and you empty it down wherever you can.”
“I don’t think she got the diva memo”, he expressed. “She didn't get the spoiled musician. She doesn't know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot.”
One particular quality of Taylor’s that he really observed was that “she's very smart. I mean, very. That comes through right away.”
It seems that the singer has won over Travis Kelce’s dad, but has she won over his mom?
Donna Kelce spoke about meeting the singer on the Today Show. When asked if it was the first time the two had met, she said: “Yeah, you know it’s fairly new so I don’t like to talk about it. It’s just one of those things where everyone saw me,” she said. “I was in the boxes with her. It’s another thing that’s amped up my life.”
She more coyly described meeting the star as “okay”.
