It appears Jill Duggar isn't making any progress in repairing her estranged relationship with her dad, Jim Bob Duggar.

The former 19 Kids and Counting star, 32, has been blunt in her disapproval of her famous family — especially their devout following of Bill Gothard's controversial religious organization the Institute in Basic Life Principles, and their protection of her older brother Josh Duggar, who is currently serving time for possession of child pornography, among other crimes.

The mom-of-three also recently published her debut memoir, Counting the Cost, and though in it she had teased a possible reconciliation with her dad, it appears the two have since taken a step back.

During a recent appearance on former Disney Channel star Christy Romano's podcast Vulnerable, Jill said that her relationship with Jim Bob remains strained —and things aren't any better between her father and her husband Derick Dillard.

Though she shared that their relationship "used to be really great," and that "Derick trusted my dad and my dad trusted him," she revealed it's no longer the case.

She explained: "Once we started having some differences, it got a little rocky there to the point where Derick had to have some really hard conversations with my dad."

Jill confessed it had definitely taken a turn for the worse since, to the point Derick had to "stand up" for her, and recalled her husband declaring to his father-in-law: "If you keep contacting her directly, I will have to file a protective order."

Still, despite their ongoing estrangement, Jill does have hopes for some reconciliation, at least eventually, and said: "We're not rushing things either with my family. We want to have good relationships, we want there to be better trust."

In the midst of her book release, Jill previously maintained to People: "My father and I do not have one-on-one contact."

In the book, she also recalls a tense fight between her and her dad, which culminated with her telling him: "You treat me worse than you treat my pedophile brother."

She does however recall a quasi-reconciliation in 2022 after her third baby, Freddy, was born, and how though she and her father had spent at that point years rarely seeing each other, when he visited her to meet his new grandson, she wrote: "We were able to connect in ways we'd not connected for years, and I was grateful for this unexpected gift."
