Rylan Clark turned 35 on Wednesday and while the presenter received plenty of gifts and messages from friends, the most special present for him was that his mum, Linda, was able to visit him at his home for the first time in two months.
Last month, the former It Takes Two presenter revealed that his mum, 71, had suffered a "bad fall" while the duo were away on holiday together. Her accident forced him to pull out of his BBC Radio 2 show at the time, with close friend Scott Mills filling in for him.
On Wednesday, Rylan took to his Instagram to share a photo of Linda visiting him at his Essex home, sitting at the dining table in his pristine kitchen, overlooking the garden.
The former This Morning star was clearly thrilled to have his mum visiting as he enthused in his caption: "For the first time in 2 months she's managed to come round. Best birthday present. Don't make a habit of it tho dorrrlliiinnn."
Fans were also quick to offer their support for the joyous moment, as one said: "Hooray for Linda! Great to see her looking so perky - Happy Birthday," while a second shared: "Aww doesn't Linda look amazing," and a third added: "Aw so glad she's on the mend."
A fourth stated: "You're looking so much better hope your recovery is going well and easy does it," while a fifth wrote: "Awh she looks beautiful hope she's keeping well. Happy birthday."
At the time of Linda's fall, Rylan explained: "So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she's had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out here. She's not in the best health with her other conditions and this has made it more complicated."
He added: "My priority at the moment is my mum. Cheers Scott for covering me at Radio 2 and thanks to the people out here that have sent their well wishes. Praying for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Will update you on mummy Linda as and when I can."
A week later, he took to social media to reveal that his mum was now well enough to travel back to the United Kingdom, with the pair taking a special healthcare flight.
Joking about the situation, Rylan said: "She might have broke an arm and a leg but she's cost me an arm and a leg! LINDAS COMING HOME!! Massive thank you to the amazing team and surgeons at @helicopterossanitarios. Thanks for looking after my mum x."
Over the years Rylan has been open about his mum's health battles. He previously shared that Linda has Crohn's disease, a long-term condition that causes inflammation of the digestive system.

Rylan revealed his mum Linda had once contracted sepsis following a nasty flare-up of the disease. Speaking of the upsetting time, the former X Factor star recalled his mum not being able to make it to watch him perform in live shows. "She only managed to get to one live show," he said on Loose Women. "That was quite upsetting for her to see that."
