Taylor Swift won big at the MTV Video Music Awards, taking home her fifth Video of the Year Award for "Fortnight" with Post Malone, as well as Artist of the Year, Best Direction, Best Collaboration and Best Pop; "Fortnight" also took home Best Editing for Chancler Haynes.

The 34-year-old is now the only artist to win three years in a row, and five times across her career; she won for "Anti-Hero" in 2023 and "All Too Well (Ten Minute Version)" in 2022. She has also won the award for "You Need to Calm Down" in 2019 and "Bad Blood" in 2015.

Wednesday's six wins also saw her total VMA collection come to 30  beating the previous record held by Beyonce of 25.

In her acceptance speech Taylor thanked her crew for their help with the music video for "Fortnight," including her co-stars Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles and Post Malone, before going on to thank her "boyfriend" Travis Kelce.

"I would always hear someone cheering or woo-hooing, from across the studio," she said of the experience of shooting the music video, "and that one person was my boyfriend Travis".

"Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic, so thank for you for adding that to our shoot," she said, to cheers from the audience.

The 34-year-old won six of her 12 nominations, and she thanked her fans before reminding everyone over the age of 18 to register to vote; the night prior she endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
