Same man – and amazingly – same dress, but 29 years apart.
It was an incredible case of history repeating itself for Marie Osmond as she walked down the aisle again with her first husband.
The 51-year-old actress remarried Steve Craig on Thursday, wearing the same long-sleeved, full-skirted Ret Turner gown she did in 1982.
"I can't breathe, but I'm in it,' Marie told Entertainment Tonight. The pretty brunette had commissioned a new dress for her special day, but when she tried it on she felt it "wasn't right". "I was so sad, I was actually kind of in tears,' she said. "I was cleaning out my garage and all of a sudden this box showed up in this pile of stuff … and it was this dress and it was five days ago. "I'm not kidding. Isn't that crazy?"
Marie and former semi-pro basketball player Steve were originally married for three years before they separated. The couple welcomed a son Stephen, and the 28-year-old was instrumental in getting them back together.
"My husband has been there for me, and he loves my kids," says Marie. Steve was said to have been a huge support to the actress after her other son Michael took his life last year.
As a tribute to her late son, the couple wed on a date to coincide with his birthday and the late birthday of Marie's late mother. "We chose this day to kind of have Michael here as well," she explained. "It's his birthday, and my mom's birthday, and I just kind of feel like she's been on the other side just kind of making this thing happen."
Marie said of the wedding, which was held in Las Vegas: "Some things I guess were just always meant to be," adding that it was "probably the most beautiful day I have had in I don't remember [how long]". It was her third time up the aisle. She married music producer Brian Blosil in 1986, and during their 20-year partnership, they had two children and adopted five more.
