Kate Beckinsale's wedding ring was noticeably absent as she took to the red carpet in London on Monday night for the 2015 British Fashion Awards. The 42-year-old actress was the epitome of elegance as she posed for the cameras in a black Erdem dress, featuring a sexy cutaway back – but all eyes were on her bare wedding finger.It was Kate's second night out in as many days – on Sunday she attended the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards in the capital, once again without her ring. Kate's outing at the weekend marked her first red carpet appearance since the news broke that she has split from her husband of 11 years, director Len Wiseman.

On Friday, sources confirmed that the long-term couple had gone their separate ways some months ago. "They are still friendly and spend time together in LA when Kate is there," an insider told People, adding that "there has been no drama"."It's just not Kate's style," the source added. "They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart."Rumours about a possible separation first surfaced when director Len was seen spending time with 24-year-old model CJ Franco. Kate, meanwhile, has recently been busy filming Underworld 5 in Prague. So far, neither have commented on their split.

Kate – who is the daughter of Porridge actor Richard Beckinsale – married Len on 9 May 2004 in Bel-Air after meeting him on the set of Underworld in 2003. The London-born actress previously had an eight-year relationship with actor Michael Sheen, with whom she has a 16-year-old daughter Lily.While Len seems to have formed a close friendship with CJ, sources close to the couple say that a new relationship is not on Kate's mind. "Kate is not dating and is only focused on her daughter and work," an insider confirmed to People.
