Gail Porter has opened up about her happiness after having breast reduction surgery, revealing that her decision to reduce her 28JJ size breasts to 28C has transformed her life and body confidence.

The former Top of the Pops presenter revealed that her breasts were an issue to her growing up and throughout her modelling career in the Nineties, revealing that she only lost weight during her modelling days in an attempt to keep them as small as possible. She said: "When I was modelling I was very thin, purely because I wanted to make my breasts as small as possible.

Gail opened up about her "life changing" surgery

"I resorted to the point of anorexia just to get rid of them, but they wouldn't go. If I put on weight it went straight to my breasts."

She also referred to a FHM magazine shoot from 1999 when her photoshoot was projected onto the Houses of Parliament, saying that despite the publicity she had "no body confidence." She said: "I always hated my massive breasts. When they were projected on the Houses of Parliament I still had no body confidence."

The star, who has had the condition alopecia since 2005, shared her happiness since the breast reduction surgery, revealing that she agreed to the surgery after suffering back pain and that it was "the best thing" she'd ever done.

Gail opened up about her struggles during her modelling career

She said: "People think it’s great to have big boobs but I’ve struggled with them all my life. My boobs were so big on my tiny frame that my back had actually started to curve…It was scary, it was painful. But I feel 20 years younger.

"It was worth every bit of the fear and worry and I should have done it years ago."

The proud mother of 14-year-old Honey also chatted about her daughter's reaction to the surgery, saying: "She was a star. She can see how much happier I am now and is really happy that Mummy’s happy."
