Sarah Jessica Parker was joined by her husband Matthew Broderick and their three children – James Wilkie, 14, and seven-year-old twins Marion and Tabitha – on the opening night of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway. The Sex and the City star looked delighted to be with her family on the special night out, and exchanged a smile with her teenage son, who looked all grown up in a shirt and tie as the group posed for photos.

Sarah attended the premiere with Matthew and their three children

Sarah Jessica and Matthew's twin girls looked simply adorable in vintage-style pink coats while holding golden tickets for the show, and shyly looked at the cameras while holding their mum's hand. Sarah Jessica also chronicled their night on Instagram, sharing videos of her children in the car on the way to the show. In the clip, she can be heard singing: "It's a family affair," before asking her little ones where they are heading. She captioned: "Yipee! On our way to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and the whole family get to go and cheer for our dear @scottwittman and @marc_shaiman." After watching the show, she shared a photo of her tickets and captioned: "A lot of VERY happy people just left the Lunt-Fontanne theatre in NYC. Count the Parker-Brodericks among them. Join the joy and be an audience at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

The star has previously opened up about her twins. Chatting to Entertainment Tonight, she said: "Apparently one of my daughters is plotting to take over. She has designs, so to speak, on running as she says, 'mama's company.' I think she likes being really bossy. No… I think she likes organising things and kind of putting things into action." She added: "If I walk on the stairs or [the twins] see me getting dressed, they have opinions about what I'm wearing. They don't offer up design ideas yet, but I'm sure that's all moments away from happening."
