About commercial content
Hello! and Hello! Fashion produces a range of content that is advertiser funded. Commercial content is labelled in one of the following ways:
In partnership with
When a piece of content on our website is clearly marked as ‘In partnership with’, this means it is a paid-for advertorial feature. These advertorials are written by HELLO!’s in-house creative team and are inline with our tone of voice, editorial standards and the Advertising Standards Authority guidelines. These features may contain links and messaging from commercial partners that are not chosen by the editorial team. The advertiser approves the final piece of content.
Linkby
HELLO! works with a platform called Linkby on an affiliate basis. In articles that feature Linkby links, we may earn a commission based on clicks to products or brand websites featured. These articles will always have a disclaimer at the bottom. We only collaborate with brands on Linkby that align with our values and develop products that our team approves of. Brands may have a role in suggesting what kind of topics are covered, but our editorial team are not obliged to accept these ideas. HELLO! controls the full tone of voice of the article and the editorial angle.
Supported by
An advertiser has paid for their brand to be associated with this content, but it is controlled by HELLO!'s editorial staff. It's essential for us to adhere to ethical standards and maintain transparency. HELLO! strives to clearly disclose that the content is supported by a brand. A brand may suggest products we can feature but it is down to the editor's discretion as to what's included in the final published article, ensuring that the content aligns with the overall theme and interests of our HELLO! audience. It should seamlessly integrate with the rest of our content. We only choose partners that align with our brand values. Authenticity builds trust with our audience, and we wouldn't want to jeopardise that.
HELLO! Loves
In some instances, an advertiser may provide funding to be included in content that already exists on the website, or that we already plan to produce (e.g. best sequin trousers ahead of party season). In order to be transparent, we include a "HELLO! Loves" badge over the top of the product, and add a disclaimer within the feature to inform our readers that a HELLO! Loves badge is a paid-for inclusion.
