Fancy a glass of wine? Well this month, why not make it organic?Producer of Montenidoli, Elisabetta Faguioli, is one of the twenty female wine growers attending the Real Wine Fair from as far afield as France, Italy and Australia. Elisabetta comes from a family that has cultivated vines and olive trees in Custozza, not far from Verona, since the 1700s. She now looks after her own vineyards that are organically grown.

She says "For fifty years no herbicides, insecticides or any other chemicals have been used. This is a microclimate brimming with life. The vineyards are aglow with fireflies by night and dancing with ladybugs by day." And that is what the Real Wine Month is all about. Taking place throughout May, it celebrates organic, biodynamic and natural wines made by artisan growers and winemakers.

The fair will give the public the chance to try over 700 wines, take part in wine tasting classes, go to seminars and a host of other events.

Top restaurants are participating in London and across the UK, from Moro in London and Manchester, to Harvey Nichols in Scotland, Leeds and Bristol, and a host more.

From Cheshire to Cornwall, and from the Hebrides to Hampshire, you can enjoy natural wines throughout the UK from over 200 restaurants, independent merchants and wholesalers. The focus goes further than wine, with beer from local brewers Camden Brewery, and cheesemonger Androuet and award-winning north London deli Melrose & Morgan there with artisan bread, charcuterie and chocolate.  Visitors to The Real Wine Fair will be able to meet and talk to the growers, whilst having the opportunity to taste a diverse range of honest, terroir-driven wines. The fair will take place on Sunday May 20. therealwinefair.com
