Everyone is in the spirit of the British fun to come this long weekend. Even Selfridges is getting involved, with the Big British Bang. The party, celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and a summer of sport, involves lots of gorgeous cakes, treats and a cool glass of summery Pimm's. And it doesn't stop there, with cups of tea and Marmite, exclusive pop-up shops and crazy golf.

On the roof of London’s famous department store, Selfridges, the bonkers boys Bompas and Parr, the Jellymongers responsible for many a food based stunt, have set up The Big Rooftop Tea and Golf Party.

A 9 hole 'very crazy' golf course modelled on London's landmarks, but styled like beautiful cakes, coupled with a fantastic foodie treat in the Daylesford Café serving all manner of sweet and savoury treats – cheeses from the Daylesford farm, wines from their vineyard in France and lots of tasty tarts and pies.

There will also be a gin and violet jelly created for the café by the jelly boys. It's about as British as you could get, replete with large umbrellas should the British summer do its usual trick. On our trip, it rained for a few minutes, then the sun gloriously burst out – but nothing could dampen the fun we were having. A fun fact for you: El Bulli, one of the world’s best restaurants, started life with a miniature golf course. Visit Selfridges for more information and to see the other festivities happening in store to celebrate the Jubilee. The Big Rooftop Tea and Golf Party runs from May 31 to September 2.
