Celebrate like a royal this autumn with Pippa's new party planning book

October 23, 2012

Following in the steps of the Middleton family party planning business, Party Pieces, Pippa Middleton shows that she is a natural pro for planning the type of British themed-occasions featured in her first publication, Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends. The book offers recipes, tips and advice for parties and family gatherings such as Halloween and Bonfire night as Kate's sister delves into her family past to divulge traditions like how to make lollipop-studded pumpkins and floating garden ghosts.

Although Celebrate is intended as a "comprehensive guide" to home entertaining, it's easy to read into as a memoir of Pippa's own childhood in the Middleton home with her brother James and older sister, the Duchess of Cambridge. The young socialite says that she's "lucky to have grown up in a close-knit family – this has played a very central role in my life".But it's also safe to assume that Kate, also a well-known whizz in the kitchen, will be proud of her younger sisters' recipes – which include delectable, yet spooky, canapes and bonfire tomato soup.

It's easy to follow in the footsteps of this fashionable foodie, whose apple pies in pots and vibrant blackberry butter come with the simplest of instructions, perfect for that last minute party rush. The 29-year-old explains that because "entertaining on any scale can be stressful and daunting" Celebrate puts all its focus on "ways to manage and enjoy the process".To keep your kids occupied this year, Pippa's party games suggest playing pumpkin skittles by using small drinks bottles decorated as ghosts and bowling them over with miniature pumpkins.HELLO! Online will be sharing a couple of Pippa's party recipes from her new book, coming soon! Celebrate will hit the shelves on October 25.
