Fearne Cotton to make foray into foodie world with first cookbook

August 25, 2015

Fearne Cotton is to make her foray into the world of food with her first cookbook, which is set to hit shelves in June 2016. The DJ, who parted ways with BBC Radio 1 after ten years in February, shared the news with her six million+ fans on Twitter on Tuesday: "I'm very excited to tell you about what I've been working on. My 1st cook book out next year. "The pregnant TV personality gave her followers a glimpse of what they can expect from her kitchen tome with a snap of a mouthwatering chocolate cake topped with chunks of dark chocolate and strawberries alongside a blackboard, containing the title of the cookbook and its release date: "Cook Happy, Cook Healthy, June 2016".

Fearne says on the book's Amazon page: "Most of the food you put in your body should have ingredients that make your skin glow, your hair shine, your body feel energised, your eyes bright and your kids and friends happy. "Even the naughty treats can have good stuff in them too! If you love cooking and baking and are happy, like me, to whittle away the hours with spatula in hand then hopefully you'll enjoy my ideas and recipes."

According to the website, Cook Happy, Cook Healthy "is full of easy, fast and healthy recipes for everything from breakfast and speedy suppers to baked treats".As she prepares for the birth of her second child – Fearne already has a two-year-old son Rex with her husband Jesse Wood, son of Rolling Stone Ronnie – the 33-year-old has revealed herself to be the baking queen of the house, sharing pictures of her homemade delights.

A piñata cake was made for her step-daughter Lola's tenth birthday, an Irish tea cake for her father-in-law Ronnie, a Victoria Sponge for her friend’s birthday and a healthy treat for herself – "heavenly blueberry lemon vegan and refined sugar free bars".It's not all baking though – Jesse's new favourite breakfast is, Fearne says, her "homemade Mexican eggs", and her savoury dishes are sure to contain "amazing fresh veg from my uncle Martin's allotment", of which the soon-to-be second-time-mum recently shared a picture.
