James Martin has revealed that his role on Saturday Kitchen meant he was unable to truly embrace his love of food. Speaking with Woman magazine, the 44-year-old confessed he is indulging a lot more now that he has time for himself. "Onscreen, I looked like I'd been out getting drunk the night before but I was genuinely knackered," he explained. "It made me think, 'I need to change my life.' Now I'm not working Saturday mornings I feel like I've got my life back." The popular television personality, who fronted the BBC cookery show for ten years, added: "I had half a bottle of wine and a baguette with duck confit for breakfast! I'm not going to have a six-pack or a young boy's body and I'm fine with that."
James Martin has talked about his indulgent eating habits since quitting Saturday Kitchen
Earlier this month, James talked about his time on Saturday Kitchen, confessing it was hard to maintain a good work-life balance. In an interview with The Times, he explained: "You sacrifice so much. Life, kids, relationships. Your work takes you to places and you sacrifice your relationship because you want to go there. It's tough, but that's the reality."

But it seems as if James has finally found "The One" with his girlfriend Louise Davies. During a recent appearance on Good Morning Britain, the popular television star - who is now back on TV with his new food travel series James Martin's French Adventure - was compelled to discuss his love life, to which he replied: "I'm happy. I'm happy. For the first time in my life I'm happy and content." Prior to his relationship with Louise, James was previously in a four-year relationship with James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, who he split from in 2005.
