Sometimes when you're going out for dinner, there is nothing you want more than a big, hearty meal – and what better to fill you up than delicious BBQ grub? BBQ food is most certainly a summer food, and for us it is a reminder of long, lazy Saturdays in the sun with a jug of Sangria in one hand and a hot dog in the other! But if you can't wait for summertime to roll around before tucking into your favourite genre of dinner, we at HELLO! have gone looking for the most amazing BBQ restaurants in London. Here are our top five choices…

Cattle & Co

This restaurant is based just a short walk from King's Cross, and it's great location as well as it's fantastic atmosphere makes it an absolutely must-visit. As for the grub, the chefs are total expert on grilled and smoked barbecue food.

During HELLO!'s visit, we were challenged with the restaurant's most delicious (and formidable) 'Cattle Platter' – an incredible range of food for two which included a St Louis rib, beef short rib, smoked chicken thigh, honey and beer onion rings and a whole lot of fries. Another highlight of our trip was the king prawn starts which were cooked in three ways – with seaweed, Cajun & lime and garlic – leaving us ever-slightly weak at the knees!

Cabana

Want to try BBQ food with a twist? Cabana is all about Brazilian barbecue food – from steaks served on skewers to tasty 'street food' tapas, their eclectic range of food will leave you tempted by everything! HELLO! would recommend trying out the chicken croquetas with malagueta mayo for starters, and give their popular chilli and cumin steak with Churrasco chips for mains.

We already can't wait to go back for seconds! The chain of restaurants are dotted around London – meaning that you can get your fill of the Brazilian goodness in locations including Covent Garden, the O2 arena and Brixton.

Bodeans

Bodeans isn't just great ribs – they also do amazing pulled pork, hot dogs, chickens and fish – so even if BBQ isn't really your thing – here there is something for everyone! And if you just don't really feel like going out here's where it gets better: you can take your order to go and enjoy your amazing meal in front of the TV!

Barbecoa

Loved by the likes of Phillip Schofield, Jamie Oliver's Steakhouse restaurant Barbecoa was always going to be a smash hit. With a two-tonne meat smoker that is one of a handful available in the UK, expect your meat to be cooked to absolute perfection at the restaurant that took four years to create.

The Big Easy

There's something on the menu for everyone at The Big Easy, which decribes itself as a "Bar.

B.Q and Lobster Shack" and has three locations throughout London. We paid a visit to the original restaurant in Covent Garden, where we tucked into delicious lobster and BBQ meat washed down with frozen margaritas. Love meat? Pay a visit on Mondays, for 'The Big Pig Gig', offering limitless BBQ with a 2 pint stein of Big Easy Brew for £20.
