Distillery Julep cocktail

Golden Julep

The nation's favourite syrup meets the nation's favourite spirit in this juniper-version of the classic julep. Served in the iconic Lyle's Golden Syrup tin. Made by Portobello Gin and available at The Distillery, London.

Ingredients

  • 10-12 mint leaves
  • Half a teaspoon full of golden syrup
  • 50ml of Portobello Road Gin
  • A small scoop of crushed ice
  • 2-3 sprigs of lavender
  • Powdered sugar (to garnish)

Method

  • Take the empty tin of Golden Syrup and add 10-12 mint leaves.
  • Using a small rolling pin or a muddler, squash the mint around the inside of the tin. Your tin should be covered in the oils and juice of the mint leaves butbe careful not to turn it into a paste. Discard the remaining leaves.
  • Immediately add half a spoon full of golden syrup and the Portobello Road Gin to the tin and mix thoroughly.
  • Add a large scoop of crushed ice and mix again.
  • Finally top the tin with more crushed ice and add a mint sprig plus two or three sprigs of lavender. Dust with powdered sugar.

Ingredients:

  • 35ml Masons Original gin
  • 15ml Sweet Vermouth
  • 25ml Pink Grapefruit Juice
  • 5ml Rose's Lime Cordial
  • 125ml Ginger Ale
  • Citrus Fruit Chunks
  • Ice

Method:

  • Stir the gin and sweet vermouth together with the pink grapefruit juice and Rose's lime cordial.
  • Add the citrus fruit chunks and ginger ale and stir again. Add a couple of mint springs and serve to create the perfect spring tipple.
Lavender peach bellini

Lavender Peach Bellini

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 ripe peaches, peeled, halved and stone removed
  • a dash of raspberry liqueur
  • 750ml bottle of Champagne, Prosecco or sparkling wine, chilled
  • Fresh lavender sprigs

Method:

  1. Blend the peaches in a blender until smooth.
  2. Fill  each of your chilled champagne glasses with 2 teaspoons of the peach puree. Add a dash of raspberry liqueur for extra colour and top with chilled sparkling wine. 
  3. Decorate each glass with a lavender sprig and serve straight away!
Milanese GT

The Milanese G&T

Ingredients:

25ml Campari

25ml Bulldog Gin

Tonic water

Lime

Ice

Method:

  • Mix the Campari and Bulldog gin in a glass filled with ice cubes
  • Top up with tonic water and add a squeeze of fresh lime, adding another lime wedge to garnish

40ml Seedlip Spice

20ml Fresh Carrot juice

40ml Fresh Orange juice

20ml Fresh Lemon juice

Splash of Cactus Water

A Dash of Honey

Maca Powder

Pinch of Gelatin
