It's set to be one of the hottest days of the year, so what better way to celebrate than with free ice cream?! Luckily, the team at Ben & Jerry's new Summer in Soho residency in London are on hand to fulfil your ice cream cravings, and are giving out free scoops to visitors between noon and 8pm on Thursday for its 'Free Scoop Day'.

STORY: Black ice cream is the newest food craze you need to try

Head down to the new ice cream shop on Wardour Street, and you'll be able to take your pick from Ben & Jerry's popular flavours like chocolate fudge brownie or cookie dough, or sample one of the Soho-exclusive flavours like sweetest peace – a raspberry cheesecake ice cream with chocolatey peace signs and ampersand chunks.

The team have more than 5,000 scoops to give away, but the best part is you're not just limited to one! So you could queue up, enjoy your delicious ice cream and then join the queue to get another one should you wish! You may want to get in quick though, as we imagine this is going to be incredibly popular!

If you miss out or aren't in London, don't worry – National Ice Cream Day is coming up on 16 July, and a number of retailers are expected to have complimentary samples or offers to celebrate. Among them are Mercante in Mayfair who will give customers who purchase gelato from the La Gelateria pop-up cart a complimentary deck chair token for a free hour of relaxation at nearby Green Park.

Ben & Jerry's Summer in Soho residency is at 74 Wardour Street, London, W1F 0TE. Get your free scoop between 12-8pm on Thursday 6 July.
