STORY: Jamie Oliver announces new cookbook - and it's perfect for parents
Sharing a photo of the cover on Instagram on Sunday, Jamie told his six million followers: "Writing this book has been a really surprising experience without doubt my most approachable cook book yet I think really for total beginners and confident cooks. My brief to myself was yeah minimal ingredients and big flavour so 5 was the magic number. Quick and easy as that's what most of you guys want, but really what this book became was a wonderful master class in restraint, less shopping! And time and space to master new techniques."

Jamie's new cookbook is called 5 Ingredients: Quick and Easy Food, and the father-of-five previously said it was focused on creating "no fuss, budget friendly meals made with just 5 ingredients." The book will be released on 7 September and includes over 130 recipes that all feature just five key ingredients that ensure meals are quick and easy to prepare – perfect for busy parents who are hoping to cook quick and nutritious meals for their families.

A synopsis for the book reveals it includes recipes such as Roast tikka chicken and Crazy simple fish pie, and reveals that each recipe will include a visual ingredient guide, a short and easy-to-follow method and nutritional information.
It's no wonder the celebrity chef is keen to focus on quick and effortless meals; Jamie has his hands full with the five children he shares with wife Jools, and no doubt wants to spend less time in the kitchen and more time relaxing with his brood including the newest addition to the family, baby River Rocket.
