Love gin and tonic? You need to get to your local Marks & Spencer store ASAP as they have launched two new gins – and they are magical. The retailer has partnered with Edinburgh-based distillery The Old Curiosity to create the new infused gins, which not only have delicious rose and lavender flavours, but change colour when you add tonic – a true game changer.
There are two flavours to choose from; British Rose Dry Gin is created using Apothecary Rose, one of the oldest rose varieties in the world. Although it already has a pretty pale gold hue, it will change to a vibrant pink shade once you add tonic. Meanwhile, the British Lavender Dry Gin is infused with hand grown, picked and dried lavender, which transforms from purple to pink once you add your mixer.

According to M&S, the gins are 100 per cent naturally distilled and infused using florals and botanicals that are free of chemicals, sugars, fruit extracts or flavour compounds. This means that the gins keep the natural properties of the plants they're made from, so when tonic is added it will not only enhance the flavour, it will also change the pH of the spirit, which causes it's seemingly magical colour change.

The gins are available at M&S stores now, and will be online next week for £25 per 50cl bottle, but get in quick, as these unique spirits will fly off the shelves. The launch comes after several of Marks and Spencer's own brand gins were awarded bronze prizes at the 2018 International Spirits Challenge. The London Dry Gin and The Collection Oak Aged Gin were commended, along with Pink Grapefruit Gin, No 02 Zest Gin and No 01 Spice Gin.
