Although the weather can’t seem to make its mind up, we are firmly in summer mode, swapping our shoes for sandals and flat whites for frappuccinos. Because while we enjoy our morning caffeine fix all year round, we (*hopefully*) will no longer be needing it to warm up our hands, which puts us in official Iced Coffee Season. And if you’re wanting to try something a little fancier than an iced Americano, then you’ll absolutely love Costa’s new summer menu.
Come to mama: The Salted Caramel Crunch Frostino
Costa Coffee has launched its new summer drinks menu (which will roll out in stores next week) and if you can’t live without your morning cappuccino, then you’ll love the iced version made from chilled whipped milk. These were designed to give a “silky feel” and an Instagram-worthy layered appearance. For a completely refreshing drink, they’re also offering cold brews, which can be upgraded with caramel or vanilla syrup.

And for those of you with a sweet tooth, then there are plenty of non-caffeinated options. Brand new ‘Milk Whips’ are a lighter take on milkshakes, and you can try a brand new Frostino flavour this year - Salted Caramel Crunch. But our favourite new item is the Watermelon & Coconut Fruit Cooler, which sounds like the perfect thing to take on picnics (or the perfect base to a summer cocktail?). It also has no added sugar so you can slurp it guilt-free… or to give you room for a slice of cake.

The food menu which has already rolled out, includes scones (there must be a surge in traditional afternoon tea demand since royal wedding mania has spread the country), almond cakes, and a caramel latte loaf cake.

It’s not just the menu that has changed at the high-street coffee retailer, as their recent ‘Force For Good’ pledge sees customers who bring in their own cups enjoy subsidised drinks, and in-store drinks are to be served in glassware instead of throwaway cups.
