Lily Allen's youngest daughter Marnie was treated to the most incredible chocolate drip cake to celebrate her eighth birthday – but the celebrations didn't go quite as planned.

The Smile singer took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of the cake, which was decorated with brown striped icing, white chocolate oozing over the edges and a selection of retro sweets piled high on top.

"@cielocakery CAME THRU!!!" the doting mum wrote, before sharing a follow-up photo of the birthday disaster. The towering creation quickly keeled over, snapping in half to reveal layers of rich chocolate sponge inside.

It may not have looked as impressive following the mishap, but we're sure it tasted just as decadent!

This is not the first intimate family birthday celebration Lily has had since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In November, the 35-year-old marked her eldest daughter Ethel's ninth birthday by transforming her living room with fairy lights, balloons, bunting and even a pink tent.

Instead of one giant cake, the little girl had lots of little fairy cakes in the shape of cacti, decorated with green buttercream icing.

Meanwhile, the mum-of-two marked her now-husband David Harbour's 45th birthday with a three-tiered sponge cake topped with raspberries.

Lily revealed they suffered a mishap with the cake!

Lily shares Marnie and Ethel with her ex-husband Sam Cooper. Her two daughters appeared to have acted as bridesmaids at her wedding to Stranger Things star David in September 2020.

The pair tied the knot at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas after going public with their relationship at a West End production of The Lehman Trilogy in August 2019. Lily later shared photos of her two girls sitting on the back of a limousine wearing matching pink tulle dresses and face masks.
