Nanny Bill's
NQ64 has been around for a little bit, but alongside the Shoreditch-based bar, there is now a specialised burger restaurant alongside the videogame-themed cocktails on offer. The venue also specialises with croquettes, which are the perfect complement to any meal there.
The Bacon Double Cheeseburger and the Dalston Dip were certainly the burgers of choice for me and my friends, and when it came to the cocktails, although I wanted to sample as many, the sweet taste of the Kirby had me coming back for seconds.
When you're done with your burgers, that's when the real fun begins with the venue hosting its own arcade space. Think classics like Tekken, Guitar Hero and the ever-popular Dance Dance Revolution, as well as retro offerings like Street Fighter and classic N64 and Nintendo GameCube games.

Big Fernand
What's better than a burger? A free burger! To celebrate National Burger Day on Thursday 22 August, restaurant discovery app Appetite and London-based eatery Big Fernand will be giving out 200 free burgers to hungry diners from 6:30pm. First come, first served.
Simply pop down to Big Fernand's south Kensington restaurant and get your hands on either the classic Le Big Fernand (a beef patty) or Le Regal Du Poulet (a Panko-breaded chicken burger with bacon). All you need to do is show up and show the Appetite app to claim your free meal.
The cult Parisian burger restaurant has teamed up with Appetite to celebrate the restaurant discovery app's new feature 'My Places'. The new tool helps app users store and organise restaurant lists on their phone.
If you miss out on the offer, Appetite is also offering a 50 per cent discount off all Big Fernand burgers, and Lillet Spritzes, for the whole month of August.

The Broadcaster
There's nothing quite like having a burger on the roof and the wagyu burger at The Broadcaster in White City is certainly best sampled alongside the London skyline.
With the old Broadcasting House situated just to your right as you dine, the venue boasts one of the most unique skylines in all of London.
And it certainly boasts one of the best burgers, with its melt-in-mouth beef patty going perfectly alongside all your burger staples.
Don't fancy the roof, however? The four-storey venue has plenty of options for you to dine and it even features a photobooth on the fourth floor!

Blacklock
Meat is definitely on the menu when it comes to Blacklock's five London locations and while the pork chops certainly jump out, might I instead direct you to the Deluxe Double Cheeseburger. And it's no humble burger, and I decided to commit a cardinal sin by immediately tackling it with a knife and fork (sorry!)
The delicious meal was certainly melt in the mouth, and this was helped with the Ogleshield and Montgomery cheddar cheese and caramelised onions. But the true hidden delight with this was the vermouth which made this one of the best patties I've ever enjoyed. And at just £13, it's practically a steal!
A small side of beef-dripped fries is the perfect accompaniment while the dessert of choice has to be their cheesecake. You could see everyone's heads in the restaurant turning whenever the large tub was brought out the freezer!

Flat Iron
While a basic burger is always on our cravings list, there's something about a seriously decadent sandwich that has our mouths watering. I tried Flat Iron's bearnaise burger and it had me seriously reconsidering my go-to order at the chain restaurant: two smashed patties, sliced pickles, shallots, melted American cheese, dripping fried batter scraps and homemade Bearnaise sauce suddenly sounds a lot more appealing that the usual medium-rare steak order.
While the bearnaise sauce was the part that really elevated it for me, the sharp pickles cut through the decadence so it didn't feel overly rich. Combined with their epic sides (always the mac and cheese and tenderstem broccoli), it ticked every box for me!

Supra
The best kinds of burgers are always the simplest. While we've loved watching the popularity of the menu staple expand sometimes you just look at the ingredients on offer and think 'What?' Thankfully, this is not the case for Supra who have brought the humble burger back to basics.
Located inside Cocotte at Queen's Park, you can avoid the hustle and bustle of the big city and just enjoy some intimate time with friends with a simple burger in front of you. I had a bacon double cheeseburger with a side of fries and it transported me straight back to simpler times. The apple tart dessert was also a slice of magic to end the night on.
Alongside a refreshing wine list, and the loveliest table staff I've encountered at any restaurant, make sure you don't miss out on this exciting residency.

The Waterway
London has some truly spectacular views if you know where to look, including Little Venice and the canal ways around Warwick Avenue. Perfectly located next to the riverside is the aptly named Waterway which offers luscious views and a cosy space to unwind for a summer's evening.
Now, I am a meat-lover but also aware of the impact this has on the planet, so I opted for something a little different when I headed to this venue, going for one of their lovely vegan burgers. Now I know this is a cliché, but I genuinely could not tell that I wasn't eating a beef patty. The similarities down to the texture and even the cheese is what I would expect with from a meat-filled bun and has even inspired me to inject a bit more vegan food into my daily diet.

Studio Kitchen
For a summer burger, there has to be no better place than Studio Kitchen. Located alongside Regent's Canal in Islington, it feels like a hidden hideaway with its gate that requires you to be buzzed in.
Alongside the picturesque views of the canal, you can enjoy a very reasonably priced burger with their signature smashed patty being joined by the usual highlights like pickles, American cheese and lettuce.
Best washed back with one of their frozen cocktails, this is the perfect place to enjoy modest food and kick back with your friends for an hour or two.

Honest Burger
Why not celebrate National Burger Day at Honest Burger? Founded in 2011 by Tom Barton and Philip Eeles, Honest Burgers began in Brixton, with an aim to craft the best burgers from scratch.
As a coeliac, it is one of my go-to places in London, other than their buns which can be swapped for GF alternative, their entire menu is gluten-free, battered onion rings included - yes you heard that right!
From the ultimate bacon and cheese delight to a sophisticated chargrilled chicken and pesto number, Honest Burger has you covered for whatever your tastebuds fancy. Not to mention their glorious specials, August's burger of the month is the ‘Halloumi Your Way’ Burger, which you do not want to miss!
