The Stafford

A selection of cakes, sandwiches and scones

Released in July, The Stafford has created one of its best afternoon teas to date, and it's just as much a treat for the eyes as it is for the mouth. The highlights of the experience, of which there were many, had to be a vanilla and raspberry dessert which was shaped like a white mouse. The sumptuous honey cake also stole the show, and you'll be wishing it was done as a full dessert.

You also enjoy your standard selection of savoury sandwiches and sweet and savoury scones, served alongside either a glass of fizz or a tea menu that stretches on for miles, incorporating jasmine teas and more those more traditional. If you're stuck for what to choose, we advise asking the friendly waiters who are full of recommendations and they didn't steer us wrong during our time there.

How much is Regency Afternoon Tea at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane? £70 per person, or £87 per person with a glass of champagne
