Top designers including Giorgio Armani, Philip Treacy, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen have donated evening and day wear to a charity benefit to take place in Dublin on May 25.

The auction is dedicated to Clothesline, an organisation founded by supermodel Jasmine Guinness, a member of the famous brewing dynasty, and fellow catwalk chum Jade Parfitt. Funds raised will go to children affected by AIDS in Africa.

Giorgio Armani’s contribution, a sapphire blue sequin-encrusted dress with matching sandals from the designer’s spring/summer 2001 collection, is valued at over £23,000.

“We are hoping to make £100,000, but we could raise a lot more,” says Jasmine, who was instrumental in organising the evening, despite being seven months pregnant. “It’s a really good cause. Just £40 can feed and educate an African child for a whole year.”

In addition to the high-profile designers involved in the event, familiar names from the catwalk have also volunteered their support including Helena Christensen, Jodie Kidd, Yasmin Le Bon and Jerry Hall and daughter Elizabeth.
