Posing in a bikini for a new Marks & Spencer swimwear campaign, 36-year-old mother of three and former supermodel Yasmin Le Bon is an inspiring sight for over-thirty mums everywhere.
The photos, shot in the South of France, reveal that the 5ft 9in wife of former Duran Duran vocalist Simon Le Bon has maintained her stunning figure. “I haven’t done swimwear since my daughter Tallulah was born,” she said. “I’m doing this for all the 36-year-old mothers who have three kids to look after and no time for the gym – let alone a personal trainer like a lot of people I know.”
“Getting to the supermarket is more important than how I look, and when I’m cooking for the kids it’s hard to come up with low-fat, low-calorie dishes for yourself as well,” adds the curvaceous 34-25-37 mother of daughters Amber, 11, Saffron, nine, and six-year-old Tallulah. “I call myself Big Hips Le Bon because I’m a ten at the top and a 12 at the bottom. I’ve always been that shape, but I’m self-conscious of losing tone since having kids and worry about the dreaded cellulite.”
None of which means she has any plans to stop working, however. “Actors and writers keep working till they die, so why can’t models?” she says. “Whilst there is work I’ll keep on modelling, and there seem to be jobs galore at the moment, thankfully.”
The new M&S swimwear line, which includes matching sarongs and overshirts, has been positively received in the fashion industry.
