Supermodel Naomi Campbell is set to make her theatre debut tonight in the San Francisco production of the wildly popular stage show The Vagina Monologues. Reports earlier this summer had hinted that the tempestuous beauty would join the London cast of the Obie Award-winning comedy, but after she spent a month studying acting Stateside, Naomi aims to dazzle fans on the other side of the Atlantic.
Naomi will take to the stage alongside former Melrose Place actress Daphne Zuniga and Katherine Helmond of Who’s The Boss fame. The trio opens at San Francisco’s Theatre On The Square on Tuesday and is scheduled for an initial two-week run. A portion of the proceeds will go to playwright Eve Ensler’s V-Day charity which combats violence against women.
The supermodel’s debut comes in the midst of her much publicised feud with longtime love Formula One boss Flavio Briatore. Naomi is reportedly demanding a multimillion pound settlement from her one-time fiance who has just ordered her to move out of his Chelsea home.
“It is all completely over,” says a friend of the catwalk queen. “They are now speaking through lawyers.”
Naomi claims the Benetton boss physically assaulted her on his yacht earlier this month following her reported liaison with Brazilian racer Pedro Diniz. Insiders say Flavio will likely settle out of court, offering the stunner both a house of her own and upwards of £1 million in cash.
The South London model’s lawyer confirmed that Naomi was seeking a financial settlement from the billionaire, saying she was “the victim of an unprovoked vicious assault by Mr Briatore which included severe injuries to her face”. Flavio denies the allegations as the story continues to unfold.
